Merits began with a powerful question:

In the early 1980s, our founder watched his mother struggle with basic mobility inside her own home. Options were limited. Adjustability was rare. And her dignity was at stake.
So, he built her a chair — and it changed her life.
Suddenly, she could move freely again. She could sit with her family at the dinner table. She could enjoy the outdoors.
That one act of love sparked a business founded on compassion, and that compassion remains our driving force today.
